No. Signal is an independent app by Clarved. It uses public Hacker News search data and links back to news.ycombinator.com discussions.
What does Top Today, Top Week, and Top Year mean?
Signal queries public Hacker News search data within that time window and ranks the returned stories for mobile discovery. It is designed as a practical discovery feed, not an official Hacker News ranking.
What are saved lenses?
A saved lens is a reusable search and filter combination, such as AI plus the past week plus at least 100 comments.
Can I search comments?
Yes. Comment-first search lets you search HN comments directly, then open the parent story and discussion.
What is stored on my device?
Saved lenses, bookmarks, recent queries, and reading history are stored locally on your device.
Does Signal require an account?
No. Signal is read-only in v1 and does not require a login.
Does Signal show ads?
